The "Refine your results" section, appearing on the left side of the results page, contains a list of categories you can use to filter your results. By including and excluding criteria (such as date range, author/creator, or resource type), you can narrow the search to get more relevant results.
To filter your search results in Primo, follow these steps:
- Look through the list of filters to the left of your search results.
- Check the box to the left of a filter, then click on the Apply Filter pop-up box to refine by that criteria, e.g. select Articles to see the Library's article collection on your topic. You can select multiple filters before you click on the Apply Filter pop-up to save time when refining.
- Check the red box with a line through it to the right of the filter to exclude that criteria, e.g. choosing this option next to Book Reviews and selecting Articles will show articles available by the Library except for book reviews.

If you search the Library Catalogue and you are unable to find what you need in the SAE Library collection, click on the Expand my results link to extend your search beyond the SAE Library.
