Who can place requests and what can be requested?

REQUESTING ITEMS FROM SAE PRINT COLLECTION - DIGITISATION SERVICE

  • If a journal or a book is available in the SAE library in print format, current students and staff can request an article or chapter from the item to be digitised and sent to them as a PDF.  Print resources from SAE can be identified in the library catalogue by the wording 'SAE Closed Reserve' (See more about the Closed Reserve here).

REQUESTING ITEMS FROM OTHER LIBRARIES - INTERLIBRARY LOAN SERVICE

  • If an item is not available in the SAE Library collection, you may request a PDF of a chapter or an article via the inter-library loans service. This service (requesting from non-SAE libraries) is available to staff members, students undertaking a major project and postgraduate students for teaching and research purposes.

Please be aware that copyright restrictions apply, and as a result, not all digitisation requests can be fulfilled.

Whilst digitisation requests from SAE print collections aim to be processed within a 3-5 day period, this may be longer depending on demand. The document delivery approved requests (from non-SAE libraries) will be supplied within 5-10 working days (depending on resource availability).

How to place requests?

To find out how to place a digitisation request, go to How do I request a book chapter or an article from the SAE print collection?

To find out how to request non-SAE items via the document delivery service, go to How do I request an article or book chapter from another library?
